Nominations
If you want to run to become one of the five Student Officers, a Student Trustee, or a NUS delegate, you will need to nominate yourself. Candidate packs are available online and from the Students' Union Hub Reception.
Campaign Team
You should think about who you want to be a part of your campaign team. Important things to think about are:
Who would represent you well?
Who can you rely on to turn up to all the events that you need them for?
Who is good at networking and has good people skills?
RUSU are running Elections Workshops that will answer any questions you may have concerning this. Check out the Rules and Timeline section for workshop dates.

Writing a manifesto
RUSU will be running manifesto workshops that will give you all the hints and tips you need to write a good manifesto. The dates of all our workshops are in the key dates section of the website.
Some things to think about when writing your manifesto are:
What things have affected you while you were a student?
What do you want to change about your University and your campus?
What do you want to change on a local and national level?
Why would you be great at this job?

Getting out and Campaigning
This year no candidates are allowed to campaign before the close of nominations. However, it is a good idea to start planning your campaign team, and where you’ll be campaigning during the elections.
Once elections week has started, you are able to campaign anywhere and everywhere in accordance with the Elections Rules. Try to spread your campaign as widely as possible and speak to lots of different groups of people. Voting commences on 24th Febuary at 10.00am and runs until Friday 2nd March at 3.00pm. Again, all the key dates are available in the key dates part of the elections website.
