Student Activities

The Spark* Newspaper has been published in a variety of forms for just over 75 years and is the oldest of all our student media groups. Currently the paper is produced on a fortnightly basis with an average of 40 pages per issue. 2000 copies are distributed at each print run and there is also an online version available through the website.

Anyone with an interest in print media can get involved. This could be by contributing articles to a specific section or actually editing that section or indeed the whole paper. All these roles are filled by students and also include photographers and proof readers. Training is provided by the editorial team and covers specialist areas concerning legal issues. So even if you do not have a background in media you can still get involved.

Spark* is recognised as one the best student newspapers in the country.
