Manifesto

I am the current VP Student Activities and I have had a very successful year in office. Having increased the number of students taking part in activities, welcomed 10 new sports and societies, ran a successful campaign and established very strong relationships with the student media and volunteer groups, I have decided to re-run to continue building on the strong foundations set in place this year.

If elected, I will:

• Make student activities more accessible to MATURE STUDENTS
• Ensure ownership of activities remains with the students
• Continue to work closely and support ALL STUDENT GROUPS ensuring that students get the best possible volunteering experience
• Increase funding for all STUDENT ACTIVITIES
• Continue to support ALL GROUPS regardless of size and status
• Work closely with the University to raise student awareness of MASIV
• Make the GIVE IT A GO CAMPAIGN bigger and better ensuring more students get the opportunity to try out new activities.
• Develop the HEALTHY LIVING CAMPAIGN reaching out to more students
• Continue campaigning for a swimming pool on campus
• Increase the profile of SOCIETIES
• Increase the number of VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES available
• Develop the 'RU Ready' training scheme to ensure students acquire the transferable skills that they want
• Improve the COMMUNICATION between student groups and RUSU

Three Main Points

• Make student activities more accessible to all students
• Continue to work closely with all student groups and support their independence, regardless of their size or status
• Continue to run campaigns such as; Give It A Go, Healthy Living and getting a swimming pool on campus
