2,000 Plagiarism themed post-it notes were distributed throughout the University during Plagiarism Week. One aim was to create greater awareness amongst students about Plagiarism and we definitely got everybody talking with our free and funky Plagiarism post-it notes! Alongside this, we were fighting for a fairer system to deal with alleged plagiarism cases - and the post-it notes helped us get the message across!

Hidden Costs

70 students filled in Hidden Costs cheques in October 2007 to tell us what additional costs they face whilst studying their course at Reading University. This campaign was in response to the results of out Hidden Costs campaign in May 2007 which 479 Reading students responded to.

How RUSU campaigns for you.

  • RUSU receives guidance from its members on what to campaign on through Student Voice, RUSU's twice-termly forum for campaigning issues and through speaking directly to its student members.
  • RUSU campaigning is not always visible. It can involve much behind-the-scenes lobbying of the University through presence on University committees and by building strong relationships.
  • Campaigning can also involve lobbying community and political figures, such as local MPs and councillors.
  • Awareness campaigning is also a fundamental part of RUSU, aiming to alert and make students aware of social, community and political issues and communicating to them how they can make a difference. All of our campaigns look to secure lasting changes and a better deal for students.
