Education Reps

Education Reps speak up on student issues that matter to you and your fellow students.

Education Reps are elected student representatives whose role it is to ensure that the student voice is clearly heard at a faculty level. They work closely with Student Academic Reps (StARs) within their faculty, with Education Reps in the other faculties, and with RUSU, particularly the VP Education, Tommy Gilchrist.

Education Reps are elected annually and serve for a year whilst still studying course. The University has five faculties and each of these have two Education Reps elected to represent them.

As well as being the lead student representatives in their faculty and providing support and communication to the StARs, they also sit on university-wide meetings, in particular the Faculty Board for Teaching and Learning and the University Senate.

They also meet informally with members of staff to discuss issues that students raise with them.
