Freshers' Angels

The academic year is nearly at and end and we hope you have had a fantastic year. We are sure that you would want the Freshers' arriving in October feel the same. So why not become a Freshers' Angel?

A Fresher's Angel is someone who acts as a visual signpost and helper during Freshers' Fortnight. One of this year's Freshers' Angels said "it was a great experience with great friends and just generally a lot of fun"

You will:

  • Help new students make friends when they first arrive
  • Be a point of direction for bemused new students!
  • Volunteer around 18 hours over the first two weeks of the Autumn Term (Freshers Week and Week 1)

We will give you:

  • Training and support
  • Advice and materials to help you
  • Certification for your volunteering experience

A fantastic chance to:

  • Help others
  • Meet new people
  • Improve your communication and organisation skills

Please contact m.pennyfather@reading.ac.uk to get involved!
