Music Society Committee

We are the officers on the RUMS committee for 2008/09, so look out for us at rehearsals and make sure you talk to one of us if you have any questions, queries or a problem with anything.

Matt - the president
President: Matt Jackson
Matt is currently in his second year at Reading where he is studying for a law degree. He is mainly an orchestral percussionist, and is therefore proud to be the first non-musician as the president of the society! He also plays violin when needed.

If you need to talk to him, you can usually find him either in the Orchestra on Monday nights or Concert band on Tuesdays, although he will be popping in to bands occasionally throughout the year.

Chris - the vp
Vice-President:
Chris Riley

Chris Riley is a Physical Geographer. When he is not colouring between the lines he is either playing the clarinet or singing bass in several RUMS activities.

Tristan - the secretary
Secretary:
Tristan Cameron

Tristan is a part 2 undergraduate studying robotics. He is a Clarinetist in concert band and Jazz, and sings in Gospel Choir too! He likes to write and arrange music, as well as amateur sound design. In his spare time, he likes to build robots out of Lego, and whenever it is windy can be seen on the Fields opposite Bulmershe, flying his Power Kite!

Chris - the treasurer
Treasurer: Chris Alexander

Chris is a part 2 student studying Robotics; he plays clarinet, a scattering of brass instruments and (if you're really unlucky) drums and percussion. You'll find him in Concert and Brass Band, and helping out wherever he can in concerts. In his spare time (of which there is little thanks to his degree) he works developing websites and generally having a good time of University life.

Emily - the social secretary
Social Secretary:
Emily Cooper

Emily is in her second year studying Music and Education. Her first instrument at university is trombone and will be performing the Symphony Orchestra's concerto later in the year,as well as concert band. She also plays violin and piano and teaches these in the local area.

Hannah - the health and safety officer
Health & Safety Officer:
Hannah Wells

Hannah is the Health & Safety Officer for RUMS. She is a 2nd year studying primary education and music. She can normally be seen (but mainly heard) playing bass clarinet in concert band but because of an injury is currently unable to play at the moment. She loves music, going out with friends, and sleeping... lots.

Anna - the publicist
Publicist:
Anna Bailie

Anna is in her second year studying Primary Education with Music. She plays the viola and is a singer. She is also a member of the Orchestra, the Chorus, the Chamber Choir, the Pocket Orchestra and the Gospel Choir.
