What is the Sports Federation?
The Sports Federation, often just called 'Sports Fed' is made up of all the sports clubs at RUSU. Therefore if you are a member of a sports club, you are also a member of the Sports Fed.
Each year (during the summer term), a committee is elected by the Sports Fed members to run the federation. They are usually current committee members from some of the individual sports clubs, but any member of a club is encouraged to run if they are interested. The committee for this coming year are listed below, so you can see who they are and you can contact them if you need to. Please remember that RUSU can be contacted directly on student.activities@reading.ac.uk.
The committee oversee the consideration of extra grant claims (when a club needs more money for an unforseen expense) and new sports clubs. The final decision on these requests are put forward to all the sports clubs at the Sports Fed conventions, where they are voted on by representatives from each sports club. The conventions are also where RUSU may ask for your feedback about how sport is run at Reading.
Sports Fed is a way for you to have your voice heard, so if you would like anything raised at the convention, make sure your club president knows and they can take your views to the convention and RUSU.
