Peer Educators for Barnardo's

Are you aged 19 or under and can spare some time? If so are you willing to be trained in sexual health, relationships, drugs and alcohol information on staying safe etc to then pass this information on to peers younger than you through workshops or events. If so read on.

Barnardo's are recruiting volunteers to become peer educators to lead sessions/workshops that they have devised, they would also be responsible for planning, organising and evaluating the sessions that they would run. Barnardo's will provide training, equipment, venues where possible, food at training and any support that you may need throughout all stages of the process.

The training comprises of one evening a week over approx 6 weeks and a weekend residential. After that the time that you would need to commit to would vary between 1-3 hours a week or a month at absolute minimum. The training is due to start in January which might be abit of a tight deadline so if you are interested get in touch.

There will be a chance for volunteers to work with young people from various backgrounds including those that maybe challenging, from deprived areas, looked after children, those known to offending services and young carers etc.

All volunteers would therefore need to be CRB checked.
