Recycling Ambassadors (re3)

A unique volunteering opportunity

Are you a passionate, patient, creative person with a good sense of humour who cares about our environment? Would you be able to enthuse and educate primary school children about the importance of the message reduce, reuse and recycle? Would you like to gain volunteer credits and enhance your cv? If yes to all of the above we would like to meet you!

We are re3.

re3 is the name given to the project initiated by the partnership of Bracknell Forest, Reading and Wokingham Councils working with Waste Recycling Group to deliver state of the art waste management services and facilities. Our aim is to reduce the amount of waste being sent to landfill.

We are opening two Visitor Education Centers in Reading and Bracknell where we will be running educational sessions aimed at primary school children. We want to help children understand the type of waste we each produce and how to manage it. We hope to run practical, entertaining and enlightening sessions and are looking for imaginative and enthusiastic recycling ambassadors to help. There will also be opportunities for you to become involved in lesson planning and introducing new activities.

As a re3 volunteer you can expect to gain:

Practical experience of Environmental Education

An insight into Waste Management

Ample opportunities to improve many inter-personal skills

Environmental Education training

A positive working environment with a flexible approach

Ideal Opportunities for:

Environmental Science, Geography or Related Discipline students looking to gain relevant experience in a related field

Any student passionate about spreading an environmentally friendly message

Students looking to gain experience of working with primary school children
