A: The AGM is open to all Students' Union members.
Q: How can I find out how RUSU's money is spent?
A: All students are invited to attend or AGM, our annual accounts are published on our website or you can request a copy though the RUSU President.
Q: How do I become a member of the Union?
A: When you start at the University of Reading, you automatically become a member of RUSU. Being a member of RUSU means that you are eligible to buy an NUS Extra card that has loads of discounts and deals to save you time and money.
Q: Who runs RUSU?
A: The Union is run by its members. They give their views, opinions and ideas to a group of elected representatives who oversee the running of the Union on the member's behalf. To find out more on how you can lead your Union and feedback to your elected representatives go to www.rusu.co.uk/speakup.
Q: Who can stand for election?
A: Any member of the Union can stand to be elected for a President or Vice President position and this takes place yearly.
Q: Who funds the Union?
A: The Union is a not for profit self funding organisation. Profit generated from the shops, bars, club nights and events is used to fund welfare, sports clubs, societies and of course to continue the development of the Union building.
Q: Is RUSU part of the University?
A: We are independent from the University. However, we do work very closely with the University who provide us with funding. We work to make sure that our members get the best opportunities possible while studying at the University of Reading.
Q: Where does my money go for my NUS card?
A: The Union also benefits from NUS Extra card sales as nearly £5 of the £10 you pay comes directly back to us. This money is invested in more services, activities, clubs and events for you. So buying the card helps you out even more!
