Hey hey! My name is Dave Campbell and I'm your Vice President of Student Rights and Diversity. Now, you may ask what on earth that title means and what how can it benefit you? Well, let me tell you! I have two main areas under my remit; they are welfare campaigning and equal opportunity.
In welfare, I will be out and about in the Union and the University campaigning to ensure that you are aware of your rights and problems that you may come across during your university career.
I will be campaigning on things such as safety on campus, safety in and around town, drink awareness and many more throughout the year. And don't forget, if you think there is a campaign which I need to do, just let me know!
This year I want you to tell me the welfare issues that are of concern to you. I'm also here to offer advice where I can, and if I can't I'll make sure you talk to someone that can!
In equal opportunity, I am here to ensure that you students' union is a diverse and welcoming as possible.
Firstly, I will ensure that our equal opportunities policy is upheld so that no one is discriminated against, whoever you are. Secondly, I oversee all of the representation and liberation groups that the students' union has to offer.
