Pete Jeffreys - VP Education

Hello, and welcome to the University of Reading – the next few years are going to give you a wealth of new experiences and your sabbatical officers are here to support you through them. As Vice President Education, I'm responsible for all academic relations between students, the students' union and the university.

Education is far from being the boring bit of the union – of course there are loads of opportunities to get involved in societies, sports clubs, campaigns and volunteering, but education is no exception.

There are plenty of ways that you can get involved to make your learning experience here at Reading so much more enjoyable! This can include acting as a course representative, standing to be a Faculty-level student representative, and of course standing in the students' union's elections.

With many recent changes to the higher education sector, keeping a strong education campaign on campus is essential. Reading is at the forefront of fighting against raising the level of tuition fees, fighting for a fairer funding structure, and lobbying for a wide-ranging and accredited student experience.

I'm here to support you and any concerns you've got about your course or your teaching and learning at Reading.

Feel free to call into my office in the students' union building, email or catch me around campus.
