Reading University Students' Union is an enterprising, commercially successful, and influential advocate for the best interests of our members. We've successfully delivered a wide range of high quality facilities for students, from our successful 3sixty nightclub to our plans to extend our nursery facilities to offer 100 places. Our team culture is friendly and supportive, yet professional and outcome focused. We enjoy what we do and we get things done.
Our new Chief Executive will build on our achievements to date, providing strong leadership and strategic direction to map out future initiatives. You'll inherit an excellent partnership with the University, and an experienced and stable management team. We expect that you'll already be an experienced senior manager and you should be able to demonstrate the capacity to identify the needs and priorities of a successful Union as well as the influencing and brokering skills to bring about investment and support from partners. You'll play a lead role in creating a Union that is responsive to student needs, commercially creative and adapts to an ever changing environment. You should be able to engage effectively with different audiences and demonstrate an empowering style of leadership, making best use of the resources available to you. Most importantly, you'll have the ability to translate strategic objectives into implementation plans and possess the project and people management skills to see these through to delivery.
