Hello and welcome to The University of Reading. I am Rhiannon Horsley and I will be your Students' Union President for the next year. The Reading University Students' Union is a not for profit organisation run by students, for students. We are here to watch your back and help you have a great time.
I was voted in by the student body last March and since finishing my History degree have been working full time at the Reading University Students' Union. It is my job to make sure that you get the best out of your University during your stay. My awesome team of Vice-Presidents and I will ensure that your views are represented at all levels to the University of Reading. We will work to make sure that your voice is heard on all issues and at the same time help you have a great time while you are here.
University is about so much more than getting a degree. It is about meeting new people, experiencing new things, growing as a person and realising your potential.
Whether the Vice Presidents and I are attending meetings, speaking with the media, organising rallies or simply making sure that events are tailored to your needs, we're working for all of you everyday. The Reading University Students' Union is here to help you during your time at The University of Reading. We have a huge array of clubs and societies that you can join; from football to korfball, from photography to lock picking there really is something for everyone.
We have a team of top notch friendly professionals waiting to give you advice on money, housing, welfare, education, and immigration issues; all you need to do is drop by at The Hub which is located near the 3sixty nightclub.
The sabbatical team are here to help you and if you need us we can be found upstairs in the Hub so feel free to drop by at any time.
There is often the assumption that the Students Union is just about running bars, but as you can see we are so much more than that!
Reading University Students' Union or RUSU to its friends is regarded as one of the best Student Unions in the country, so take advantage of all the great things we have on offer and remember every penny we make goes back to you.
The Union is not the building, the Union is us.
