Hello! My name is Vicky Clarke and I'm your VP Education. I am guessing you are wondering what this means for you. It is my role within Reading University Students' Union (RUSU) to be responsible for all academic relations between students, the Students' Union and the University. This just means getting involved in any issues that may relate to your studies while you are studying here at The University of Reading.
There are plenty of opportunities for you to become involved in. Decisions about your education – you can become a StAR (Student Academic Rep), representing your fellow students on your course, or you could even stand to be an Education Rep, working at faculty level to improve courses and the general student experience.
Also, make sure you look out for the various campaigns being run on campus. There are constant changes within the higher education sector; the Students' Union is at the centre of the debate on tuition fees, in addition to fighting for a fairer funding structure, as well as working towards more local changes within The University of Reading to improve your learning experience. Campaigning is essential to ensuring that you get the most from your studies, so make sure that you speak up and that the student voice is heard on some of the most important matters.
Finally, I am here to support you through your time here at The University of Reading, so if you come across any concerns, issues or problems regarding your education, then please do not hesitate to come and see me in my office above The Hub in the Students' Union building or you can contact me by phone or e-mail.
Happy studying!
