You Said: The Library facilities are not up to standard
We Did: We ran a Library campaign achieving:
- Longer opening hours at evenings and weekends
- More study space during the exam period around campus
- More plug sockets throughout the library
- Increase in spending on books
RUSU were Runners Up for the NUS Campaign of the Year Award for its hard work on achieving these results.
You Said: We want more outside seating at the Summer Ball
We Did: Picnic benches were put outside for extra seating.
You Said: If you miss Freshers' Fayre you miss the opportunity to get involved with student activities
We Did: We ran 'Give it a Go week'. Students could try new sports, particularly lesser known sports, for free! We ran 32 sessions that around 150 people signed up to.
You Said: Housing talks are too late
We Did: This year housing talks will be happening at the end of the first term, we'll be giving out information earlier so you can make more informed decisions.
You Said: JCR committees need more support
We Did: The RUSU President now supports JCR committees and provides them with training; all new JCR committees have received training for taking on their posts next year.
You Said: Students should be more involved with RUSU events
We Did: We've now got hall reps on the Services and Entertainment Forum to provide constant feedback.
