Junction 11 Deputy Station Manager Blog.
An insight into the world of Junction 11
"This is probably the greatest song in the last decade." This was the verdict of our head of music, Alex Marshall, on the new Bloc Party single Flux. It has currently spent two weeks at the top of our chart, which is perhaps why Alex made this bold statement on last weeks Session 11. The reason I've mentioned it in the blog is I have a feeling Alex will find another song next term that will be the 'song of the decade' and I can refer to this article and remind him of his original bold claim.
As we're effectively a third of the way through the academic year, the re-launch of the station is fully underway. The station is now solely on-line to embrace the digital age. The next big change for the station is changing the station sound. To do this, next Tuesday, we're going to have presenters come in and record vocal tracks for jingles in order to find the voices of Junction11. It will be our own version of the X-Factor, I'm even going to pull my trousers up to under my armpits in true Simon Cowell style.
Obviously, there is no escaping the fact that Christmas is upon us, my bank balance is certainly proving a constant reminder. Junction11 is no exception, with Christmas songs on a lot of shows. So if you need getting in the festive mood, make sure you tune into Junction11 and joy in the festivities.
Next term, the schedule will be re drawn to cater for presenters timetable changes. If you missed out on a show this time, or you'd like to get involved in one of our many departments, such as music, production or marketing to name a few email exec@1287am.com and we'll help get you involved in the station.
That's about all for this blog. All of us at Junction11 wish you a good Christmas break and remember when you come back in January
GET TURNED ON to Junction11.
