Raising and Giving Society (RAGS)
RAGS is a volunteer group set up by students that is committed to raising money for a number of different world charities including People and the Planet, LUPUS and Street Child Africa (these change annually). The group arrange a number of different events throughout the year to help them raise money.
RAG week is an annual event dedicated to solely to raising money. During this week numerous different events take place. This year the RAG team completed a RAG raid around town, gunging the sabbatical team, Blind Date and LOST among others. The RAGS team are excellent at thinking outside the box and generating new and innovative ways of raising money. For example, the LOST event involved teams of students being dropped of in Brighton and they had to find their way back to Reading spending minimal, if any money.
RAGS is an excellent way to get involved and meet new people. The experience that being a member of RAGS will give you is irreplaceable and should be embraced. If raising money for charities, generating new ideas and having fun is up your street then get involved with Reading RAGS. Come to the HUB and find out more information about how you can become a RAG!
