Whether you want to find out more about careers in the growing sustainability sector on Wednesday 12th during the Sustainability Career Workshop; test your entrepreneurial skills in the RU an Entrepreneur competition or watch the Vice-Chancellor and Mark the RUSU President, get their hands dirty recycling waste, there’s something for everyone.
During the week, there will be a competition to design an energy saving monitor for the Chemistry Building. The winning entry will receive £100 Oracle vouchers. Visit www.rdg.ac.uk/cleanandgreen/greenweek for more information.

‘R U an Entrepreneur’
Monday 10th February, 6.00pm – 7.30pm
The RU an Entrepreneur competition will take place in RUSU’s Thet Wing Aung Boardroom. Here potential entrepreneurs will be introduced to the competition run throughout Green Week. The idea is to take a social problem, such as waste and find a social enterprise solution. The aim is to turn a problem to profit in a socially beneficial way. This is a fantastic opportunity to work as a team to create a product for the benefit of the student community, using only recyclable materials. You will also be able to ask social enterprise experts questions about their career at our Social Entrepreneur’s talk, gaining insight and top tips to work in this field.
Battle of the Bins
Tuesday 11th February, 12.50pm
This is an opportunity to cheer on the Vice- Chancellor, Sir David Bell and RUSU President, Mark Kelleher as they battle to divert waste from landfill to become ‘recycling champion’. This will be held in the Palmer foyer between 12.50pm – 1.30pm. Join us for some cake as the competition begins. Last year the VC won so Mark needs to even up the score for RUSU this year. Hang around and see the Sustainability Fayre whilst you’re there.
