    Lecture Recording

    Current

I would like to propose that lectures are recorded (auditory/visually) for students by the university as a matter of normality, and accessible to all students rather than having students to record them for their own use.</p>

This is wanted as the University does not have the current ability to do this, and it would greatly provide support students who for whatever reason, whether unable to attend lectures due to illness, external circumstances or disability, and as it provides a useful learning resource for revision purposes. This would reduce the demand on students to record lectures for themselves if they have to but are constrained by resources (for example lack of funds to invest in a suitable recording device).

2:47pm on 23 Jan 17 Lecture Capture is already a priority campaign, as part of my Manifesto. The Campaign has seen a lot of success with a working group and business case being created for the University. In light of the Governments introduction to the TEF, Lecture Capture was relegated as not a top Teaching and Learning priority for the University, and thus funding was denied. However, the University will be ready to go with LC as soon as they reprioritise their T&L strategy.
