RUSU Reps to provide evidence of monthly accomplishments

    Current

Whilst we are all aware that the RUSU representative (be is welfare, education, LGBT) are working away at whatever their jobs may be, it is often not made apparent to members of the university what exactly is being accomplished with their time. Most students only see RUSU reps through facebook/twitter and other social media sites and it would be terrible if people were to think their only job consisted only of sitting on social media all day.

For this reason I propose that, each month, all representatives in RUSU should provide a short document, roughly one page of writing, which details what they personally have brought to the University that month, on what campaigns they are persuing and what we can expect to see in the coming months. This could then be compiled into a single "RUSU monthly report" which can be sent out to all members of the university via email.

This way we the student body can fully understand the roles of all RUSU representatives and will be able to see what RUSU do for them.

11:06am on 1 Feb 17 I agree that so much goes on each week at RUSU and the University trying to inform the members is hard. So far RUSU Full Time Officers complete officer reports 5 times a year that are sent to Student Voice for officer scrutiny. We also all have individual blogs on the website which outline things we have been doing. We have also recently made a video update which is also on the website. It is also important to note that if any student wants to find out about anything RUSU is up to they are welcome to contact any of us. RUSU trustee board minutes are put up on the website, and campaigns are also updated. I propose that the officer reports are sent out to all students as a single report and any questions can be sent to officer emails for them to answer.

5:30pm on 27 Feb 17 I question how many students will read 5 pages per month about what their FTOs are up to. I think it would be better if these "reports" were in the format of a 1 minute video (perhaps just captured on their phone - nothing fancy!).
