Catered accommodation

Those who are in catered accommodation should have the right to have the money not used at the end of the week returned back to them or should be informed in advance that if the money is not used within the week the leftover amount will be removed. In addition, a healthier food option should be offered as most food currently is unhealthy.

Many catered students do not eat a lot in the catered areas where they do not use all the money in the week. Whereas a lot of students go back home in the weekend where they only use the money in weekdays. In addition to that, during the night all the dinner that is offered to them is fried and unhealthy and so it does not suit everyone. Furthermore, there are 7 weeks of holiday during the academic year, 2 weeks of enhancement week, and many students leave early in the summer term as they finish the exams early. If the money would be calculated excluding the summer term but just the holidays then it would be £448 throughout the 7 weeks meaning that they almost lose a lot of money therefore it is not fair for them.
