The Mature and Postgraduate Students’ Meeting Point is a room just for you as Mature and Postgraduate students over welcome week.


Working on a drop in basis, this is your chance to meet other mature and PG students. Over the three days we have talks from both the Students’ Union and the University to introduce you to the services they provide. Please find the schedule below, we look forward to seeing you there!

Monday 18th September 11:30 – 15:30

11:30 Welcome from you’re Postgraduate Research and Mature Students’ Part Time Officers – Niloofar and Taz.
12:00 Student Activities Talk – A member of the student activities team is here to talk to you about sports and societies at RUSU.
13:30 Meet the Student Officers – The RUSU Officers will be speaking to you about RUSU, their roles as officers and all that RUSU can offer you.
14:30 Student Wellbeing and Counselling will be talking to you about the services available to you.
15:00 Chaplaincy Mindfulness Session – Attend a mindfulness session run by Mark from the Chaplaincy.

Tuesday 19th September 10:00 – 15:00

10:00 Welcome from you’re Postgraduate Research and Mature Students’ Part Time Officers – Niloofar and Taz.
11:00 RUSU Money Advice Service are here to talk you through all that the RUSU Advice Service offers.
12:00 Lunch with the Vice Chancellor.
14:00 Mature Students’ Society Talk Stephen from the RU Mature is here to talk you about their society and the events they run throughout the year.

Thursday 21st September 10:00 – 15:00

13:00 Study Advice for Mature Students – Kim from Study Advice will be here to chat to you about everything you need to know about studying and the common difficulties mature students face.
