Can I buy my ticket from the Box Office or Merch Store for Union or is it all online now?

All of our tickets are now sold online at Eventbrite – if you follow RUSU's page there, you will be first to know about all of our events. Once you have bought a ticket, you will be emailed a barcode that you will need on entry to the venue. You can also download the Eventbrite app and keep up to date that way.

On the event page for a union night it says that you can bring a guest. Is this for free or do they need a ticket?

For some events, students are allowed to bring only ONE guest. The student will have to buy a ticket for their guest and one for themselves.

I'm planning on inviting a friend from home to Reading for a night out, I'm wondering if they need a student card to get into union?

They don't need to have a student card but they will need a guest ticket and a valid ID for proof of age so that they can be signed in by you. We advise you arrive before 22:30 in order to sign them in.

As a student, if I purchased one ticket for myself and three others for non-students, would I be able to bring them in? Or is it one visitor for every Campus Card?

It is one visitor for every Campus card, unless they hold a valid student card from any other university, they will still need to buy guest tickets.

I haven't got my ID but I've got a photocopy, is this okay for a Union Event?

No, unfortunately we need to see a valid and in-date holographic photo ID (driving licence, passport or PASS Card) at point of entry. A photocopy is not enough.

I'm on a night out and I've found a lost phone/purse/card, what shall I do with it?

The most efficient thing to do is to hand the phone over to Security or Bar Staff. We can then keep them safe and hand over to lost property at RUSU Reception if they are not claimed on the night.

I lost my purse/jacket/document at union last night/week. How can I know if someone found it?

If any item was found it goes to RUSU reception, so check out if it's there.

I've left my coat in the cloakroom but have lost my cloakroom ticket, what shall I do?

We advise everyone to take a photograph of their ticket so that you still have evidence of it to collect your coat at the end of the night. If not, you will have to wait until everyone with tickets has claimed their coats at the end of the night to claim your coat based on your initials/ID, or alternatively, pop into Mojos Bar during daytime to do this.

I've bought an NUS ticket but forgotten my NUS card for a Union Event, what will happen?

You have to show your NUS card at point of entry, if you have forgotten it you will have to pay a £2 surcharge on the door (which is the equivalent of a Non-NUS Ticket price).

What is the NUS card?

The NUS – National Union of Students – provides a discount card for students only. It offers hundreds of discounts.

How do I know if tickets for union nights have sold out?

Check our events page or Eventbrite profile for ticket availability.

I bought my freshers' wristband online but it hasn't arrived in the post yet.

The wristband won't be delivered to your home address; collection for Freshers’ wristbands will take place in 3sixty box office between 11:00 and 17:00 on Saturday 21st, Sunday 22nd and Monday 23rd September.

What do the wristbands gain us entry to?

RUSU’s Official University of Reading Freshers’ Week wristbands will gain you entry to 5 huge events at the Students’ Union (the biggest and best late night venue and nightclub in Reading), including Welcome Mash Up ft. Fatman Scoop and Club MTV’s Varski & R3wire, Wednesday and Saturday Unions, Freshers Live (Act TBA) and Freshers Ball: The biggest freshers week party. It will also provide discounted tickets to other events taking place at the Students’ Union and on campus.

Can I buy individual tickets to events included with the wristband?

We are guaranteeing entry to Welcome Mash Up, Freshers Live, Freshers' Wednesday Union, Freshers' Ball and Freshers' Saturday Union to all Official Reading University Students' Union Freshers '19 wristband holders. As such, individual tickets to these events will only become available nearer to their date, and only if wristband sales do not reach the capacity of the venue.

Wristbands are expected to sell out, so to guarantee you can attend any of these events, it’s best to buy a wristband. To buy a wristband or find out what else is included, visit the RUSU Freshers' wristband Eventbrite page.
