Closure Period

We are currently closed for summer and reopen on the 18th September.

No, anyone who comes to our events must be over 18 and have valid ID. We sometimes do events for under 18’s but unless stated, all our events are strictly over 18 only.

We are planning some under 18 events for the upcoming term, please keep an eye out for these on our Eventbrite. These events will be clearly marked Under-18 in the event descriptions.

No, unfortunately we need to see a valid and in-date holographic photo ID (driving license, passport or PASS Card) at point of entry. A photocopy is not enough.

Our club nights start at 10pm. Last entry is at 11:30pm, although we advise you to turn up earlier than this to avoid large queues.

We operate a zero-tolerance approach at RUSU. Anyone found under the influence of drugs or intoxicated will be refused entry or removed from the venue. We have a drugs detection dog on the door on club nights. If you are indicated twice by the drugs detection dog you will be refused entry. We also operate a breathalyser on the door so those showing signs of alcohol intoxication or excessive ‘pre-loading’ will also be refused entry.

We endeavour to ensure that all our events comply with Government guidance in line with covid-19 restrictions and are regularly updated.

If you have symptoms of Covid-19, stay home and do not attend the venue or events.

Ensuring that you are taking regular lateral flow tests, and getting negative results, especially before you attend an event will help stop the spread of Covid-19.

On entry to the building, you will see the NHS track & trace. We also have a venue track & trace, so if you don't have the NHS app you will be able to sign in. While it is not required by law, it is requested that you are signing into the venue via track & trace when entering.

Just inside the door & located throughout the students' union there will be touch free hand sanitiser dispensers. We request that you use these when entering and throughout your time here.

We are now cashless. Contact-free payment is the only way to pay at the venue.

Touch points around the venue are regularly cleaned.

Security staff are on duty on our busier evenings. If you have any concerns about the behaviour of other attendees, please let them know or report it to a member of the bar staff.

Although wearing face coverings is not required by law, we encourage you to wear one when moving around in our commercial areas.>

Yes, you can now order at the bar again. All of our staff are required to wear masks (unless medically exempt), we ask that you do the same while ordering your drinks.

All tickets are sold and advertised as non-refundable. If you would like to sell your ticket to a sold out event, you can do this through Twickets. Twickets resale only gets enabled if/when the event sells out. If the event does not sell out you cannot resell your ticket. We do not accept resold or transferred tickets unless done so through Twickets. Anyone found to be transferring or reselling tickets will be refused entry for the venue and if profiting from touting, banned from the venue.

They do not need to have a student card but they will need a guest ticket and a valid ID for proof of age. They will also need to arrive with you.

It is one visitor for every Campus card, unless they hold a valid student card from any other university, they will still need to buy guest tickets.

All our tickets are now sold online at Eventbrite – if you follow RUSU's page there, you will be first to know about all our events. Once you have bought a ticket, you will be emailed a barcode that you will need on entry to the venue. You can also download the Eventbrite app and keep up to date that way.

For some events, students can bring only ONE guest. The student will have to buy a ticket for their guest and one for themselves.

You will be asked to show your Totum or NUS card at point of entry, if you have forgotten it you will have to pay a £2 surcharge on the door (to make up the different to a standard student ticket price).

Totum/NUS – National Union of Students – provides a discount card for students only. It offers hundreds of discounts.
