RAG Committee Elections are currently open and we are looking for nominations from students who want to get involved in leading RAG during the next academic year!
RAG is the official fundraising body at the University of Reading, encouraging students to get involved with their union and give back to their local, national and global community. We achieve this through events, challenges, raids and other FUNdraising activities. RAG started in 1926 and has helped to raise money for lots of amazing charities!
If you want to support local and national charities next year or are interested in planning lots of fun events to fundraise, then why not nominate yourself to be on committee? This year students are completing the Three Peaks Challenge for Marie Curie, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro on behalf of Meningitis Research Foundation and even sending students to Uganda to help build playgrounds with Play Action International, amongst many other challenges!
Committee roles currently on offer include:
-
Chair
-
Secretary
-
Treasurer
-
Head of Events
-
Events and Fundraising Coordinator x2
-
Sports and Societies Coordinator
-
Media and Marketing Coordinator
Why get involved?
RAG is a nationally recognised name, and is therefore something that looks fantastic on your CV. But, more importantly, it is a chance to work with like-minded students to give something back to your community. It is a chance to engage in lots of fun activities and meet new people while improving your job prospects and helping others. It can also count towards your RED Award, as an added bonus! You don’t need to have any experience of volunteering and can learn as you go - you just need lots of enthusiasm and a passion to help those in need!
Visit our website to find out more about what the committee roles involve and to nominate yourself!
