RUSU Full Time Officers support student call for a no detriment policy

Dear students

Thank you for everyone’s feedback over the past few days. As a first step, we have now sent this open letter to the University. Our next step will be to ask you to vote on your position for a University ‘no detriment’ policy, incorporating a grade safety net.

Due to the volume of emails we have received we will be unable to respond to each student individually. We believe this letter captures your collective concerns. If you have additional concerns, please continue to join us in addressing these questions to the University.

RUSU has representation on the Major Incident Taskforce which is currently meeting twice a week with RUSU as a standing agenda item. We will continue to communicate what has been raised, and feedback responses to you via the RUSU website, to maintain our transparency going forward.

On a national level, this morning RUSU national conference delegates voted in favour of the NUS emergency policy on COVID-19, calling for improved national guidance and support for students during this period of time.
