Speak Up, Stay Safe

RUSU Speak Up, Stay Safe campaign 2018-19

Since November, we’ve been asking students to let us know what areas on and off campus can be improved in regards to safety. This could be cycle paths, lighting, pedestrian crossings, door or building access, or even more CCTV! Whatever it may be, we’re looking to get feedback from students so we can take this to the University and Wokingham Council or Reading Borough Council to have your voice heard.

Our campus is already a very safe space, however it’s important that we don’t get complacent and strive to maintain and improve this level of safety as much as we can.

So far, we’ve had some really good feedback from students about the areas that can be improved on and off campus, but it’s so important that we get as much information as possible as this will help the case going forwards!

How can I get involved?

If you’d like to suggest an area and how it can be improved, you can do one of the following:

  • Email your Welfare Officer, Dan Bentley at welfareofficer@rusu.co.uk.
  • Come along to his Office Hours 13:00 - 14:30 every Wednesday.
  • Come along to one of our Student Networks ran by our Part Time Officers.
