    Printing

    Current

The problem I want to Change is:

To be free and unlimited printing on campus.

This is a problem for students because:

Printing is expensive, as students, we don't have a large budget. Free printing encourages students to have a copy of their work, which may be more practical for them to reread - it would be a change from using a laptop screen all the time

To change this, I think RUSU should:

Implementing unlimited printing for students, or have a £20 printing credit for students

      This will help students because:

      Encourage printing

2:31pm on 23 Mar 21 The following idea went to IFG: Title RUSU to lobby the university for free printing credit The problem I want to Change is: The high cost of printing on campus This is a problem for students because: Printing is expensive, as students, we don't have a large budget. Free printing encourages students to have a copy of their work, which may be more practical for them to reread - it would be a change from using a laptop screen all the time. To change this, I think RUSU should: Lobby the university to provide a printing credit to students. This will help students because: They will be able to afford to access the printed resources they need to study. This idea went to Student Voice as a campaign for the following reasons: CAMPAIGN The initial idea included a request for unlimited printing, IFG removed this aspect of the original idea as it went against the ethos of the RUSU Sustainability Policy. IFG noted that the same or similar ideas were submitted previously (11/2016 and 12/2014) but despite lobbying the university for change, RUSU was unable to achieve free printing for students. Education Officer researched what free printing is available at comparative universities; it differs. This idea cannot be achieved by RUSU alone so would require campaigning activity.
