Hello to my fellow researchers,
This is Kinnari Zala, 2nd Year PhD researcher from Biological sciences. This year I am running for Postgraduate Research Part Time Officer role. Since last year surprisingly I have gone through many difficulties (and probably at maximum level) from mental health to financial condition!
Along with my experiences and after discussing with other students, I came to know that many students had and have serious difficulties like depression to anxiety, funding issues to time management, unprofessional behaviour of other co-workers, conflicts with supervisors or other colleague/s, no/insufficient publication, limited research experience due to delays and lack of support, hushed and shushed queries, no expansion of professional network for future. Students have felt that the situation might worsen if they would raise a complaint.
I believe every PhD researcher deserves best since we pay massive amount of fees from tuition to research for all kind of support. Let us break the stereotype ‘no pain, no gain’ to achieve PhD.
My aim for PhD is,
Research: for your handful skill and expertise
Publish: for your identity of work
Be recognised: needed for your future plans
Achieve your goal.
If I will be elected as the Postgraduate Research Part Time Officer, I’ll make sure that all your problems get solved with
Please support, vote and let me become your voice.
