Student Networks

Networks are student run, peer support groups to help you meet other students from similar backgrounds to you. These networks are here for you to share common experiences and to receive advice and support from each other. They’re also there if you’re interested in getting involved in campaigns or projects RUSU’s Part-time Officers are working on. Networks will be led by your Part-time Officers and Diversity Officer. They’ll run the network meetings, keep you updated on campaigns and how to get involved, and let you know when the next meetings are!

If you’re interested in joining a network you can find out when the next meeting is below, or you can contact your Officer to find out more information.

What's the difference between a network and a society?

Societies, like networks, provide a chance to meet other people however they do it slightly differently to networks. Societies help you meet people with similar interests to you by running events, activities and trips. Networks on the other hand are there to offer support, they provide you with a chance to meet other students from a similar background or in a similar situation to you. It’s great if you want to join both a society and a network because they’re two different things! You can find out more about the societies and student activities at RUSU here

How do I start a network?

If you don’t see a network for you but believe students would benefit from one, you can set one up yourself. Get in to contact with RUSU’s Campaigns and Inclusion Coordinator on eleanor.warner@reading.ac.uk.
