About me

Hi, I’m Ben. I am currently studying for a PhD in politics and I will be undertaking the role of Mature Students’ Officer for the coming year.

What experience will you bring to the role?

I was an academic rep during my undergraduate degree. This has given me experience of talking to students and ensuring that their opinions are passed on to the university and any concerns are dealt with.

What would you like to achieve during your time in office?

I would like to ensure that mature students feel supported and listened to and that it is acceptable for students to talk about their mental health and stress.

What are you most excited for during your term in office?

I am looking forward to meeting with more mature students and ensuring that they feel supported.

Who is your biggest inspiration?

Gordon Ramsay. He started from humble beginnings and has since become one of the most famous chefs in the world. His dedication and hard work to achieve this dream is inspirational.

You can get in touch with Benjamin via his email,, or via his Facebook page.
