How To Nominate
In order to nominate yourself in these elections you must first self-define your gender. If you have not done this you must click here.
Why do we need candidates to self-define their gender?
Self-definition is perhaps most simply understood as an outward expression of your personal identity. How you choose to identify yourself. Self-definition is not only important in terms of defining one’s personal identity, but it can take on a political importance too, as recognition of the oppression that certain groups within our society face.
At last year’s annual NUS Conference, a policy was passed to ensure that delegations to the National Conference 2015 would be made up of ‘at least 50% self-defining women’ – ensuring fair representation at the event.
Nominations for the NUS Delegate Elections open on Monday 10th November at 10.00am and close on Wednesday 26th November at 4pm.
