Training & Competitions:

The team trains twice every week, on Wednesdays 4-6pm and Saturdays 12-3pm. We focus on fitness, stamina, agility and many more specific skills to help our players become the best chasers, beaters, keepers and seekers we can be. We show you how to safely make contact and tackle, explain how to maximise different types of players working together on pitch and develop strategies to utilize at tournaments. Whether you choose to focus on one position or try them all, we have the resources to help you become the best you can be! We compete at a regional and national level, with three major tournaments we play as a team throughout the year:

  • Southern Cup in November: a regional tournament where all the teams in the South of the UK compete to be Southern champions.
  • BQC in March: the British Quidditch Cup is the biggest and most prestigious tournament of the year! Held in varying locations, all teams in the country will be attending to try and claim the title of British Quidditch Champions.
  • Whiteknights in April: This tournament is a great experience for the end of the quidditch season and we don't even have to leave Reading! We host the tournament on our very own Whiteknights Campus.

Outside of official QUK tournaments, we play friendlies throughout the year against local teams and go to fantasy tournaments such as Valentine's Cup in February and Mercian in the summer. These provide the opportunity to play with teams made up of different players to learn new skills from, try new things and make new friends. Highly recommended to get a flavour of quidditch on a national level.
