We are a new society as of 2018. We are linked with the volunteer team at the Cole Museum of Zoology however anyone is welcome to join!
Next year we will be hosting socials including documentary and nature related film nights and we are organising trips including a day trip London’s Natural History Museum. We may also be running some workshops on how to photograph specimens.
You may also decide to apply to join the volunteer team for the Cole Museum of Zoology. This team of volunteers are currently preparing specimens to move to the new Health and Life Sciences building which is set to be built by the end of 2019. Volunteers meet every Wednesday to do a variety of tasks including the preservation of wet and dry specimens, building a 3D model of the new 2019 museum, cataloguing and photographing specimens, designing new cases and planning events to help fundraise for the museum. We have access to many of the specimens that aren’t on display and it is often only students doing biological degrees that will see them.
We look forward to meeting you!
