Welcome to St. John, Reading LINKS!
We are a sociable and friendly RUSU society as well as a fully functioning St. John Ambulance division.
We provide the training to become qualified First Aiders and above!
As a St. John Ambulance unit, we are able to offer amazing duties for our qualified members including volunteering at Ascot, Henley Regatta, sports matches at the Madjeski Stadium and London Marathon!
What's special about this society:
We are a TRIPLE award winning society at the RUSU awards ceremony for two years running:
2012: Most Improved Society, Outstanding Volunteering Society and Best Volunteer.
2013: Winner of Rewards and Recognitions, President of the Year, Community Volunteer of the Year, and received a 5 star rating from RUSU.
2014: Most Dedicated Society.
What sort of training will I get?
- We provide free of charge, essential lifesaving training from fully qualified trainers.
- Includes topics such as: CPR, Choking, Burns, Spinal injuries, Radio communication, Infection prevention control (IPC), manual handling and many more!
- Many of our members continue their first aid training past the First Aider (FA) qualification to become Advanced First Aiders (AFA) or even Ambulance Technicians, and are continually supported through the society and St. John.
Go on great socials!
We generally run 2 big socials per term and do events such as:
- Thorpe Park
