Whats it all about?
Reading University Fishing Society brings students together to provide regular sea fishing trips to the coast throughout the year. Whether you have had many years experience or have never picked up a rod before, all are welcome. Equipment is provided to those without their own and for those new to the sport our commitee members will be happy to teach you the basics. Of course, we're not only about fishing... join our society and you'll be sure to meet tons of new people, be part of amazing nights out and make some of the best memories of your university experience.
We're planning future trips to a wide range of locations such as Portsmouth, Brighton, Southampton, Cornwall, Wales and many more! Not only will you be able to improve your fishing skills but also there'll be a chance to enjoy time in each town visited before or after fishing. Experienced fishermen will be able to be dropped off at advanced locations where they can fish for specific species where as beginners will be taken to a more friendly location and receive coaching for other members.
During the weekend after Fresher's Week on 6th and 7th of October we will be holding 2 trips to either Brighton, Worthing or Southampton. On Saturday 6th evening after the trip we will also be hosting our first social for ALL members; this is a great chance to make new friends. More details will follow closer to the time.
