Afro Caribbean society

The Afro-Caribbean Society at the University of Reading is aimed at creating a comfortable space, while also educating, empowering, entertaining and engaging our members.

We are interested in the issues concerning Afro Caribbean students and for individuals in our larger student body at the university, and also giving a place where you can learn new and beautiful things about other cultures.

We host a range of social and cultural events across the year, including our Black History Month “Cultural Fest” show in October - as well as debates, a "Take Me Out" parody in February and much more. We also have our very own football and netball teams who regularly train and take part in friendly matches and tournaments. We partner with various companies such as Sponsors for Educational Opportunity™ and Elevation Networks™ to provide career initiatives, networking events and volunteering opportunities which aim to set our members on a pedestal in the corporate sector.

As a member you can:

  1. Get discounts for our events and special nights
  2. Join our sports teams
  3. Discounts from Anitas kitchen
  4. Socialise, let your voice be heard
  5. Feel at home within the University of Reading Community

This society is open to EVERY STUDENT at the University Of Reading, as well as local community members. So feel FREE to come along to all our events!
