The Afro-Caribbean Society at the University of Reading is aimed at creating a comfortable space for people interested in issues concerning Afro Caribbean students and for individuals in our larger student body at the university who want to learn more about Afro-Caribbean heritage and culture.
We host a range of social and cultural events across the year, including our Black History Month “Cultural Fest” show in October - as well as debates, a "Take Me Out" parody in February and the "ACS Ball" at the end of Spring Term. We also have our very own football and netball teams who regularly train and take part in friendly matches and tournaments. We partner with various companies such as Sponsors for Educational Opportunity™http://www.seo-london.com/ and Elevation Networks™http://www.elevationnetworks.org/ to provide career initiatives, networking events and volunteering opportunities which aim to set our members on a pedestal in the corporate sector.
This society is open to EVERY STUDENT at the University Of Reading, as well as local community members. So feel FREE to come along to all our events!
