For Music Lovers and Musicians
Band Society is responsible for putting on live music on campus at our own gigs, as well as attending gigs around Reading, and supporting our roster of university-based bands! We also run jam sessions, practice days and socials to help students join or form bands of their own, and then help them to get gigs at the university and in the local area. We also boast two bands that have recorded their debut singles ahead of the start of the term!
Bandsoc is known for having a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for both music fans and for musicians! It is one of the cheapest societies to join on campus and membership offers you discount entry to all of our events with our member’s wristbands, which can be claimed after becoming a member!
Encore – Our own Gigs!
Encore is Bandsoc's live music show that is held on a regular basis in the Student’s Union. Encore is arranged by students, for students, and it has become known as a great alternative night-out, with a friendly atmosphere and good music. Our Fresher’s show is scheduled for Thursday 5th October 2017 and will showcase the very best music that Band Society has to offer, so put the date in your diary!
Wristbands - Discounts for Members!
Bandsoc offers discounts for both bands and fans! Our Bandsoc wristbands offer you discounted entry into our own events like our rehearsal days and Encore, and also into other music shows around Reading. Members have the right to claim their wristbands from our Treasurer as soon as they have paid their membership.
Gigs for Bands
Bandsoc has been working with local promoters and recording/rehearsal studios for many years, and have deals with them exclusively for our members. We offer discounted rehearsal time at our Studio Days, and we are in constant contact with local promoters and will be able to offer you and your band the hottest gig opportunities as soon as they become available.
