Reading University Clay Pigeon Shooting Club (RUCPSC) is a lively and social club for anyone with an interest in shooting. Training is offered at all levels: from complete beginners to the most experienced shots. Whether you just want to learn how to shoot whilst enjoying an afternoon out with friends, or if you'd rather compete at a University level, we cater for everyone. No gun, licence or previous experience? Don't worry, you do not need any of these. Anyone is welcome to shoot with us.
Our main sponsor is E. J. Churchill Shooting, voted the Shooting Ground of the Year 2017 and is also the ground where two of Team GB’s highly successful and up and coming shots – Amber Hill and Stanley Baughan, practice.
We shoot there every Wednesday afternoon and run two different types of training sessions as described further down the page.
If you cannot make Wednesday afternoons, we also hold fortnightly shooting sessions on Sundays at a local BASC ground.

Want to sign up as a member?
Simply follow the link below to purchase membership, giving you access to our two Wednesday shooting packages, tailored to suit your needs. You will also be given access to our private Facebook members group where we sort out who is shooting each week. Payment for each Wednesday session must be confirmed by 5pm on the previous Friday.
Plan 1 - 25 clays and cartridges including excellent tuition from some of the best instructors around. This is for the more novice shots and those who want to improve their aim!
Plan 2 - 50 clays and cartridges excluding tuition. This is for the more experienced shots in the group who like to tackle some particular stands they may find troubling!
Both plans are priced at £26 a session, and with these you have the opportunity to shoot up to 20 times sessions a year!
*** PLEASE NOTE: It is at the committee's discretion as to whether you may shoot Plan 2, as members shooting this plan will be required to be competent walking around the shooting ground in a safe manner and using the gun without professional tuition.***

Want to compete?
For those hoping to compete, RUCPSC will be entering more competitions than ever before, as well as partaking in friendly leagues with neighbouring universities such as Oxford Brookes. Our first major competition will be held at St Andrews in November. This is one of the biggest events of the year and is an experience not to be missed, with a huge number of universities competing and a fantastic social atmosphere including the infamous Welly Ball - be sure to get it in the diary! Other competitions we have attended include the BUCS championships in Shropshire, and meetings from Aberystwyth to Cirencester and Bristol.
Even if you do not want to compete, it is well worth coming along for the great social atmosphere! We host multiple socials each term at the University and in town courtesy of our two excellent social secs with some of the highlights of the year including the Welly Ball at the St Andrews comeptition, the Christmas Dinner and the AGM to finish off the year.
