Whether you are a beginner or an experienced volleyball player, you are all welcome to join our club. We have indoor male and female training sessions, both being very diverse in nationality and age. Hopefully these training sessions will help you develop both your own individual skills and technique, as well as work on building a strong sense of teamwork!
For beginners that would like to try out volleyball at a non-competitive level, there will be indoor weekly trainings on Saturdays, mostly depending on how many people we will have this upcoming academic year. This more recreational volleyball training might be a good ladder towards competitive volleyball, with time, dedication and practice!
Regarding competitions, we play in the BVA League and our aim is to give the chance to as many members as possible the opportunity to play in matches. Moreover, during the summer, we host a number of outdoor recreational trainings. So if you're staying over the summer in Reading, you might as well join us from time to time on a nice and sunny play outside!
We have the following competitive-level teams in the BVA League:
Ladies Division 1
Mens Division 1
As for our social side, we will work with social representatives of Entourage Project to host fun nights out and activities where you will have a blast and get to know each other more! (Teamwork in volleyball is essential, after all!).
We hope that as many people as possible will join our club this year. Come along outside of Palmer Building and try out volleyball during the Freshers Sports Fair on the 21th of September, even if you've never played volleyball before - you may love it! We'll also have one or two taster sessions for free the following week, where you can experience how a proper indoor volleyball training session is at a competitive level, so be prepared for a fitness punch!
Taster session for MEN is on the 26th of September at 20:15
Taster session for LADIES is on the 28th of September at 19:45
Both taster sessions are in Sportspark on campus
We have some great social events lined up for the year and it is also a great and fun way to keep fit!
We hope to see you soon!
Don't miss out!
