Pistol and Rifle are a very active club at Reading. We run regular trips to the shooting range at Bisley, and we welcome new members. We take health and safety very seriously, so don't be afraid to give it a go.
Over the last year we have trained roughly 30 members in various shooting disciplines. Our Fresher's Shoot was a lot of fun with our underlever rifles.

Our fullbore shoots are not an event to be missed. Our biggest rifles come out of the armoury for a shoot anywhere between 300 and 600 yards! Its is possible to shoot these rifles in competitions at Bisley at a distance of over a mile!

We shoot small bore rifles every week. These are .22 calibre, shot at 50m when the weather is good, or 25m indoor when its too cold to go outside! At BUCS 2012, the girls in the club came 3rd at the Ladies Triad event, earning the university 8 BUCS points.

As well as .22, the club regularly shoots air rifles. All three committee members consider this their specialty! Between the three, there are medals in every colour at national and international events as well as a record holder at the Island Games and Junior Sports Personality of the Year!

The club has many connections with Commonwealth and Olympic teams as well as some of the best coaches in the country.

Membership fees cover the use of all firearms and kit for the whole year. You don't have to have any kit when you join as we will lend you everything you need at no added cost.
If you'd like to find out more about us please send us an email. We are always looking for new members, especially those who are willing to share their knowledge of the sport in order to help the club expand.C
