Sherfield Hall is a 15 minute walk away from the centre of campus and attracts students from all over the world and from all different walks of life. Divided into two halves (the Crescent and the Close), Sherfield blocks are divided into 2 or 3 floors of 8 people, sharing a kitchen, thus providing a different atmosphere to many other halls. Sherfield really is its own little community.
Situated in-between the Crescent and the Close is Northcourt Reception where you will meet your JCR and warden on Monday the 21st of September at 6:30pm. The reception serves as a mailroom and also houses the washroom with washing machines and dryers available. Northcourt also serves Benyon and St Patrick's halls, and has a bar and large communal and entertainment area within it, so you will quickly be able to start mingling between halls as well as within Sherfield.
Also situated nearby is Shamrock Café which offers a variety of food for breakfast, lunch and dinners. The cost of the food is not included within the rent for Sherfield, but is still open to all students.
Throughout the year the JCR (as well as supporting you through uni life!) will also run and put on events such as winter and summer formals, organised Sherfield nights out.
For your first year at uni your JCR will be there to help answer any questions you may have, put on activities for your halls and to make sure you are looked after and happy with your new surroundings.
