The Law Society is an essential feature of the student experience here at the University of Reading, or indeed any student with an interest in Law. On a social front, we provide welcome respite from hard studying with all sorts of events throughout the year. This includes the Freshers Wine Reception, the trip to Ascot, the Christmas Quiz, Elections, The Summer Picnic, the famous Law Society Ball and most importantly our Trip Abroad! There are also countless socials throughout the year for you to meet your fellow Law Students, and sports teams for you to be involved with.
We also have a whole host of academic ventures, such as Mooting, Negotiation Competitions, Careers Workshops, Pro Bono Activities, which are jointly hosted by top law firms throughout the year and give you invaluable information and experience to help bulk up your CV. Each year, the conclusion of the Osborne Clarke Mooting Competition is held in the Supreme Court, and in the past, we have had barristers and Supreme Court Justices judge. We have recently won the 'Best Mooting Activities' Award sponsored by Blake Morgan in the National Student Law Society Awards 2019!
Membership with the Society will offer you exclusive access to these events and discounted prices, as well as priority over Non-Members. Membership with the Society really is an essential to ensure you make the most of your three years here. You can now sign up for just £15.15 for one year or £40.15 for three years, you can add a membership package to your basket below.
The Law Society Committee look forward to meeting you all at these events and in lectures throughout the year. We wish you the very best of luck for the year ahead. See you in Freshers!
