The Afro-Caribbean Society at the University of Reading is aimed at creating a comfortable space, which inspires, educates, entertains and engages its members.

We are interested in the issues concerning African and Caribbean students within the university. By this we can empower, educate whilst you learn new aspects and the beauty of other cultures; what makes them unique.

We host a range of different events across the year to suit everyone. Due COVID-19 most of our current events are held online. Regardless they are entertaining and worth it. These range from debate nights, discussions as well as inviting guest speakers to inspire our members. We host a "Take Me Out" parody in February for valentines and have many more events throughout the year. During these times, our sports teams have been put on temporarily hold. Teams such as football, basketball and netball teams which would regularly train and take part in friendly matches and tournaments throughout the year. So there's numerous activities for you to get involved with.

As a member you can:

  1. Get discounts for our events, special nights and local businesses
  2. Join our sports sessions
  3. Receive exclusive career opportunities from businesses
  4. Socialise, Interact and Engage and let your voice be heard
