The Reading University Poker Society is into its sixth year as a society after a hugely successful first six years. The society was named as the “Best New Society” for the academic year of 2013-2014. We meet weekly to play texas hold ‘em poker.
Don't be worried if you have not played poker before, come to one of our "learn to play" free events at the start of the first term (see our schedule below for more details). If you are interested in becoming a fully-fledged member either sign up using the link on the right or visit our facebook page. Feel free to contact any of the committee members, who can be found at the bottom of the page with any questions.
We are an extremely sociable society and we are always on the lookout for new members. We are one of the most active societies having weekly meetings during autumn and spring term. During the 16/17 academic year we went to Newcastle to play in the UK university poker championship, for the first time, where we finished 4th out of 15 universities. Membership is just £5 and this is for the whole year.
If you don’t feel like venturing out of your university accommodation to play some poker, our society sponsor Casino Guide UK has a fantastic guide on how to play online video poker from your phone, mobile or laptop.
