Hello! We are Reading University’s Anime Society!

(Updated 19/09/2019)

We meet every Wednesday and Friday from 6-10pm in Edith Morley. Check out our Anime Society Timetable, under 'resources' below!

Come to our showcase sessions, to experience a new world of creative content. Even if you're new to anime, we invite you to come on this journey with us. You might find something new and interesting which you wouldn't have otherwise started watching!

We recommend people new to anime to join us at our showcase Friday sessions, for first episode exposure into different series. If you're an anime elder and want to watch a whole series with friends, come to our Wednesday sessions when we go through an entire series (voted on as a society) watching several episodes at a time.

During the first few weeks of term we showcase the first episodes of anime suggestions, from our VIP Facebook page (access with paid membership from RUSU only). Then vote on the showcase for which full series we watch in our Friday sessions.

We don’t only watch anime, some of our other activities include:

Manga - We have a library of manga available to loan to society members

Socials - Pub crawls, inter-society events with Kendo and Japanese Society, Picnics, Halloween test of courage.

Games nights - Other than D&D we also enjoy playing board games or party games.

Video Games - We not only have video game nights as a society, but also have an active discord server where we play a plethora of games such as: Stellaris, HOI4, PUBG, Roblox (semi-seriously), Rainbow six, Overwatch, Minecraft and whole load of other games.

Dungeons and Dragons - With an anime theme

Ice skating- Now with 30% less life threatening injuries!

Bowling - With 70% more accuracy.

Events - We go to Hyper Japan and MCM Comic-Con every year. We're also going to The British Museum Manga Exhibit this summer: https://www.britishmuseum.org/whats_on/exhibitions/manga.aspx
