The outdoor cricket season may not start until the summer term, but the Reading University Cricket Club (RUCC) is active throughout the year. There is regular training every Sunday for men and women all year round, and specialist coaching conducted by a level 4 coach during the Spring term. During the summer, the two mens sides play midweek BUCS league games in the summer term, with the 1st XI winning promotion to South East Division 1B and the 2nd XI competing in South East Division 2B. During the winter, there is a mens indoor team playing in a league local to the university. In 2018/19, for the first time in RUCC history, there a women's side which competed in regular games both indoor and outdoor, with coaching available as it is to the men’s team. We know that the women’s will continue to grow and succeed in 2019/2020 given the amazing success it has had already.

The cricket club has a great social side which is accessible to all and is highly enjoyable. The year kicks off with the eagerly anticipated Cricket Whites Social, followed by many other headline events, such as the Ascot social and the always enjoyable ‘Bright and tight’ social. There are socials regulary during each term and everyone is welcome; the club always puts on non-drinking socials to ensure everyone is comfortable. In the summer term there is a social 6's which is a great day with a 6 a-side tournament, BBQ and beer as well as an end of season meal, along with elections for the forthcoming year.

Aside from the regular social events throughout the year, RUCC went on an incredible 2019 tour to Newcastle, with the aim to expand and go further in 2020.
