Would you like to help make our campus more hedgehog friendly? take part in fun activities? attend free workshops and training? All while making a meaningful difference to the nations favourite mammal. Hedgehog Friendly Campus is a national campaign funded by the British Hedgehog Preservation Society aiming to making university campuses more hedgehog friendly. There are 3 levels of award to work towards: Bronze, Silver and Gold. We achieved our Bronze level acreditation in March 2021 and are now working towards Silver.
Some facts about hedgehogs…
What we have done this year...
We have built a hedgehog house, raised money for the British Hedgehog Preservation Society, campaigned to make people aware of the dangers our spiny little friends face in our gardens, held a competition, hosted a free webinar, added stickers to strimming equipment used by our grounds team. We have even more planned for next year so what better time to join! We meet on Wednesdays, everyone is welcome.
What you can do…
Join us! – become a hedgehog ambassador, we welcome anyone, no knowledge or experience required, just some enthusiasm and a desire to help the UK’s most popular mammal
Have you seen a hedghog?...
If you have spotted one of these fabulous creatures head over to the big hedgehog map to report your sighting, or even if you haven’t yet, why not find out how many hogs have been sighted near you?
