Who are we

Launchpad is an independent charity founded in 1979 by students from Reading University based in the centre of Reading. Launchpad provides three vital services to prevent homelessness in our town: Housing with Support, Floating Support and a Drop-in Centre.

What do we do

Volunteers are vital to the work we do! Anyone can get involved and support us: from help with street collections to organising your own fundraising events.

Apart from the obvious joy one gets from doing good and helping others, volunteering can help develop new skills and boost your confidence :D It can also be a chance to meet likeminded people and engaging in satisfying and highly rewarding activities too!

The Big Sleep Out’

Every year, people get sponsored to spend one night sleeping under the stars to raise money and awareness of the realities of sleeping rough. Could you organise your own customised ‘sleep out’ for Launchpad? Students all over the country have been putting on these challenging all-night events to raise money for homeless projects including Cardiff, Bath, Manchester and Sheffield! We’d love you to get involved!

How to find us

You can contact any one of us by email or text as well as on the Launchpad Volunteering Facebook and Instagram page!
